JANAKPURDHAM, July 27: A man has lost both his legs after being struck by a train on the Janakpur-Jayanagar railway track.


Sriram Das, 35, from Mahua, Janakandani Rural Municipality-3, suffered the severe injury at Khajuri in Dhanusa. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday when Das was walking along the railway line. He reportedly got confused by the train's horn, causing him to fall onto the tracks.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayaram Paudel confirmed that Das lost both his legs after getting caught in the train's wheels. He was promptly taken to Janakpur Zonal Hospital for treatment.
