KATHMANDU, Feb 9: It has been revealed that a man who was found dead in Rudranagar near Gaushala in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning had been murdered.
The police have arrested Ram Bahadur Thapa, 32, of Morang, on the charge of the murder. Senior Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, head of the district police complex, said that Thapa had committed the murder with the intention of robbery.
The police have also identified the murdered person. The police said that he is Dhrub Bahadur Khadka, who hails from Birgunj and lives in Tokha.
According to SSP Karki, the preliminary investigation showed that Thapa had killed Khadka with the intention of stealing cash and other valuables from Khadka. The police also said that Thapa was seen hitting Khadka on the chest with both his feet on the Rudranagar Shanti Marg in Gaushala.
Thapa, who was arrested on the murder charge, was previously arrested along with marijuana in 2077 BS.
