Man killed for refusing to repay loan

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: The Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) on Tuesday arrested Dhurba Bahadur Tamang aka Amar, 34, on the charge of murdering 30-year-old Rajeshwar Moktan Tamang of Nuwakot district.



According to the police, Tamang killed Moktan over a financial dispute.

MPCD Chief SSP Sarbendra Khanal said, “Preliminary investigation shows that the accused had planned the murder.” After the alleged murder, Tamang had left for the capital on August 5. A team from Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju had found the dead body of Tamang at Tarakeshwar Municipality-5 on Saturday.


“I had no option left when he refused to repay Rs 200,000 that he owed me. He had even said that he would elope with my wife,” he said in his confession to the police. Tamang has been sent to the Metropolitan Police Circle Office, Balaju for further action.
