The court´s 13-year jail sentence includes 10 years for raping a minor girl and additional 3 years for incest rape. It has also ordered compensation of Rs. 25,000 to the victim. [break]
The 56-year-old Sarki raped his granddaughter in January earlier this year.
Police had arrested Sarki from Khairani of Chitwan district two weeks after the incident and following a tip-off, according to District Police Office, Dhading.
Similarly, the Court announced a 39-year jail term and a fine of Rs. 200,000 against Subas Thapa Magar for murdering and raping a mother and her daughter.
Thapa Magar first axed Nirmaya Pulami, and her daughter Anuska Pulami of Dhola VDC to death and then raped their dead bodies, according to police. The gruesome incident took place on September 22, 2009.
Likewise, the court announced a jail sentence of 31 years against Niraj Tamang of Chhatre Deurali VDC for murdering Brichha Chanamati Tamang.
Niraj and his group entered Brichha´s home and killed her after their plan to rape her failed on August 22, 2010.
