In a gruesome incident, Bhabilal BK, 58, killed his wife Shanta Kumari BK, 48, by hitting her in the head with a hammer and hanged himself. Police said that the couple was in dispute for a long time. [break]They had been living separately under the same roof. The couple has two sons. The incident happened when the elder son had gone to his in-laws´ place and the younger son was away at work.
Police from the District Police Office, Kaski had reached the site after they were informed about the incident by villagers. The preliminary investigation showed that Bhabilal called the wife to his room, killed her and hid the body under the cot, informed Rabindra Paudel, spokesman of the District Police Office, Kaski, adding, “Then he rushed to his wife´s room and hanged himself.”
Paudel said the couple was in dispute because Bhabilal was a drunkard who would only loiter.
Police also said they did not find any sign of third party involvement in the killings.
The couple´s bodies have been sent to the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara for post mortem.
