KATHMANDU, Sept 24: A man has committed suicide after killing his wife in Sandakpur Rural Municipality, Ilam.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabhu Prasad Dhakal said that Uaj Bahadur Rai, 46, of Bhitte, Sandakpur Rural Municipality-1, killed his wife Phul Kumari,40, with a sharp weapon. According to Dhakal, Uaj Bahadur brutally killed his wife by hitting the back of her head with the sharp weapon.

Phul Kumari’s body was found about 60-70 meters below the house, under the main road, while Uaj Bahadur’s body was discovered hanging in a Nibaro tree, Dhakal said.
SP Dhakal said, “Only Uaj Bahadur and Phul Maya were staying at home. Their elder son has gone abroad for employment while the younger son is residing in Fikkal, Ilam.”
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, and the bodies of the deceased are being transported to the district headquarters for a post-mortem, added Dhakal.
