KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Manveer Rai, a central member of CPN-UML, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Solukhumbu.

He defeated Nepali Congress(NC) candidate Bal Bahadur KC by a margin of 2,779 votes. Rai got 19,324 votes, while KC got 16,545 votes. Rai won for the first time from Solukhumbu in the parliamentary contest.
