KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The Labour Court has ordered to reinstate Puja Chand Thakur as the chief executive officer of Makarigad Hydropower Pvt Ltd. A division bench of judges led by the court’s chief Basudev Acharya and judge Prem Kumar Rai on November 30 decided to reinstate Thakur to the post. Following the removal from the post, Thakur had moved the court, seeking her reinstatement. The court verdict came four years after the registration of the writ petition. The court has ordered the hydropower company to restore Thakur with the guarantee of remuneration and entire facilities since the day she was discharged from the duty.
Thakur was officially ordered to leave the office on November 23, 2018 and she moved the District Court, Kathmandu, the Office of Labour and Employment, Kathmandu and the Labour Court, demanding revocation of the order.

In the petition, Chand argued that the company’s management dismissed her without any prior information. The court has ordered the hydropower company to pay around Rs 10 million to Chand and also reinstate her as per the Clause 172 (1) of the Labour Act, 2017.
