KATHMANDU, March 7: The first meeting of the reinstated House of Representatives (HoR) is being held at the New Baneshwar-based federal parliament building on Sunday afternoon.
The parliament meeting is taking place after eight months since the prorogation of the budget session on July 2 last year. As per the constitutional provision, the winter session was due to begin before January 2 as the gap between the two sessions of the House must not be more than 6 months.

This House session is taken with much interest as the ruling party has been divided into two factions --- one led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the other by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal-- after PM Oli decided to dissolve the HoR on December 20 last year.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday scrapped the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) registered in the name of KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, giving the party’s name to little-known Rishi Kattel who had registered Nepal Communist Party at the Election Commission much before the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was registered in the names of Oli and Dahal in May 2018.
