KATHMANDU, July 11: Inaugurating the new surgical building of Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has maintained that the majority of the population of Nepal will be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of 2021.
Meanwhile, PM Oli also stated that every individual must follow COVID-19 safety protocols until each and everyone in the country is not fully vaccinated against the virus.
The building was inaugurated amid an official event on Sunday morning. The building will be of 500 beds that includes ICUs, HDUs and general wards. The construction company had finished the construction before the deadline even amid the pandemic. The building also comprises an operation theater, laboratories and radiology services.
The hospital has expressed the belief that the new building will enhance the service provided by the hospital in the coming days. “Once the building comes into operation, it will set new milestones in the field of surgery in Nepal,” said officials at the hospital.
