KATHMANDU, Sept. 6: Major highways and roads across Nepal have been disrupted by floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.

According to the latest update released by Nepal Police, traffic on the BP Highway linking Kavre and Sindhuli is being allowed only during designated hours. Traffic along the Tribhuvan Highway and Kanti Highway in Makwanpur has also been regulated based on vehicle type.
On the Tokha-Chhahare road section in Nuwakot, non-essential vehicles have been barred from operating at night due to rainfall. The main Pasang Lhamu Highway to Rasuwa remains completely blocked after flooding and erosion along the Trishuli River damaged the road.
In Dhading, travel along the Prithvi Highway has been fully or partially disrupted at Krishnabhir and Chalise, where landslides and flooding have caused sections of the road to sink.
Transport services have also been disrupted in several remote parts of the country because of adverse weather. The Nagmi-Gamgadhi road in Mugu and the Shaheed Highway in Rolpa have been completely closed after landslides blocked the routes.
Meanwhile, only one lane of the Kantilorpath in Lalitpur remains operational after part of the road subsided. The Karnali Highway has been completely blocked at Gagane Khola in Kalikot following a landslide carrying mud and debris.
