Chief of Kathmandu Road Division Office Gopal Khadka said that the Nagdhunga-Pipalbot section has been pebbled and would be blacktopped within few days. The Office said that it oversees the section of the highway up to Pipalbot.
Thousands of passengers have been at the receiving end due to lack of maintenance of the road section for long.
The Bharatpur Division Office has also begun maintenance works from Pipalbot to Naubise section soon after the Kathmandu Division Office took its charge.
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Physical Planning, Works and Transport Management Hari Bhakta Shrestha said that the Bharatpur Division Office has started the maintenance works following the directive of the Ministry.
Earlier, the Ministry had warned the chiefs of both division offices to repair the road without any delay or face departmental action.
The single track of the 15 kilometers road section was heavily damaged due to overloaded vehicles, mainly trucks and tippers transporting stones, pebbles and sand from the Trisuli River.
