Main Organizing Committee for Sixth Nat'l Games formed

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: National Sports Council (NSC) formed a 370-member Main Organizing Committee on Friday for the Sixth National Games to be held in Mahendranagar and Dhangadi from February 26 to March 4.



The 84th board meeting of the NSC formed the committee, where Prime Minister is patron and Minister for Youth and Sports is the chairperson. [break]



Meanwhile a 25-member Executive Committee is formed for organizing the Sixth National Games under the leadership of NSC member secretary.



The board meeting promoted more than 80 NSC staffers working at different positions.



"The board meeting promoted those staffers, who were deprived of promotion for the last 15 years," said NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama. The meeting also decided to provide a monthly salary to the office assistants who had been working on daily wages up till now.



Likewise, the board meeting decided to initiate the process of developing sports curriculum and sports science faculty for higher secondary education.
