KATHMANDU, July 13: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has expressed its objections in a meeting of the House of Representatives today, citing various arms being purchased for Nepal Police in a haste without calling a global tender.

UML lawmaker Khaga Raj Adhikari accused the government of bringing the arms through transfer of funds toward the fag end of the fiscal year. He demanded that the government clarify to parliament whether it is necessary to purchase these goods and whether the Nepal Police had placed a demand for the weapons.
