Mahottari poll candidates violating election code of conduct

GAUSHALA, Oct 22: Candidates for the second Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in Mahottari district are using vehicles bearing the Indian number plates for the election campaign, violating the election ´code of conduct´.



As per the election code of conduct, election candidates should take permission from the Office of the Election Officer before using the vehicle for the election campaign.[break]



Most of the political and independent candidates here are travelling in the Indian motors without permission from the Office of the Election Officer, reported the Office of the Chief Election Officer, based at the district headquarters Jaleshwor.



As per the provision, the election candidates should pay regular customs duty, take temporary license from traffic and get an operation sticker from the election officer´s office while using the vehicles with Indian number plates for publicity in election.



According to District Chief Election Officer Prakash Kharel, no poll candidates here have taken permission from the body concerned before using vehicles with the Indian number plates. The Office of the Chief Election Officer and the District Administration Office, Mahottarai have issued statements warning the election candidates not to violate the election ´code of conduct´.
