Talking to Republica, Mahato, said that earlier he held the ministerial posts many times in the past, and now he is no more interested. He made it clear that his announcement should not be taken as election propaganda. [break]
“I took the ministerial positions with an aim to make the party organization strong,” said Mahato addressing at a party function in Janakpur on Saturday.
He said that his party had already got a shape in Madhes politics. Stating that from now onwards youth leaders will be given chance to hold ministerial portfolios in his party.
After the restoration of democracy in the 1990’s, Mahato became Minister for supply & minister for health several times.
The announcement of Mahato has triggered debate on the social networking sites. Most of the journalists, politicians and intellectuals have taken his announcement merely as a propaganda tool for November election.
A member of the Terai-based armed outfit organization, Mukhesh Chaudhary posted a comment on his facebook that Mahato had already lost base in Madhesh politics.
"He would never win any election in Madhesh as Madheshi people perceive him as an opportunist rather than a leader working for Madheshi cause," he posted a status.
