Mahaseth fined Rs 500 for violating election code

KATHMANDU, March 28: Election Commission (EC) has fined Raghubir Mahaseth, CPN-UML candidate for Dhanusha-5 constituency in the April 10 by-election, Rs 500 for violating the election code of conduct.

State-controlled Nepal Television, quoting the EC, said on Saturday that the UML candidate violated the election code by using colourful posters in the election campaigning. The EC said its Election Officer has also directed Mahaseth to remove such posters within 24 hours.
