BAITADI, July 5: Transportation along the Mahakali Highway has come to a halt as the road was blocked today morning by a landslide caused by incessant rains at Gokuleshwor-1 in Darchula.
The debris spread from Satabanjh of Baitadi to Gokuleshwor-1 of Darchula along the highway, police said.

Passengers have been stranded after vehicles heading to and from Baitadi stuck midway due to the road obstruction, police said.
When asked, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Prasad Pokharel said that the road would be cleared only after rains stop as continuous rains caused problems to their efforts to clear the debris.
Earlier, the traffic along the highway resumed four days after the road was obstructed by landslides at various areas in Baitadi and Darchula. RSS
