KATHMANDU, July 18: The Madhesi Medical Association has expressed dissent against the fast-unto death strike staged by Dr Govinda KC putting forth various demands related to the reform of the medical education. 


Issuing a press release today, Association Chairman Dr Sanjeev Jha, said that serious attention of the Association was drawn towards the Dr KC's hunger strike as some political demands have also been put forth along with the issues of medical education.

Dr KC has been staging hunger strike for the past nine days putting forth various demands including implementation of past agreements signed with previous governments and impeachment against Chief Commissioner at the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of the Authority, Lokman Singh Karki. 


The press release states, "The Association has drawn the conclusion that staging frequent hunger strike by Dr KC demanding reform of medical sector and exerting pressure to the state has been defaming and deteriorating the health sector of the country." RSS
