Asserting that the people of Janakapur are fed-up with the leaders with tainted image, Professor Dr Ram Swarth Ray, MPRF-N Central Committee (CC) member and candidate for constituency number 4 of Dhanusha, said that this time around the voters of their constituency will not let controversial candidates win in the elections. “I regularly interact with voters,” said Ray, adding that they are visiting Dalit community to make them aware of their rights.
“Earlier, the voters from Dalit communities were misused as they came under the influence of short term gain. But this time, we´ll explain them about the value of their votes,” said Ray. He further said they have launched door-to-door campaign for wishing people happy Dashain and at the same time asking for votes.
TMDP Vice Chairman Brikhesh Chandra Lal, who is also contesting from the constituency number 4 of Dhanusha, said that people in the district have yet to get into the election mode as they are in the festive mood. “We are reaching out to the voters by holding programs at small scale and organizing meetings at every village,” said Lal.
Lal has launched his own website and a facebook page for publicity.
SP Secretary Mirza Arshad Beg also said that the election campaign was yet to begin in his constituency. “After Dashain festival, we will organize mass meets,” said Beg, adding, “We have started to meet people as it is the most opportune time because all members of a family will be at home,” added Beg.
He added that they are also visiting people from those communities that don´t celebrate Dashain.
MPRF-D CC member Ram Janam Chaudhary, who is contesting from constituency number 3 of Kailali, said that they have formed a publicity committee in the constituency. “As we have been lobbying for the delineation of a separate Tharuhat province, this agenda itself is sufficient for me to get votes from the Tharu community,” added Chaudhary.
He added that though he opposes formation of an ´Akhand Sudurpaschim´ state, he will win the poll as the Tharuhat province supporters are in majority in his constituency.
