"The protest is still a compulsion," Thakur said, talking to Republica in Saptari, where he had arrived to attend TMDP's central committee meeting. He criticized the leaders of major parties, including the prime minister, for spreading rumor among media, Madhesi communities, diplomats and international community that the government was ready to resolve Madhes issues through dialogues. But the problem of Madhes remains the same.
"The government has been behaving in the same manner as it did during the protests. We don't wish to engage in protests, but the government's manner is forcing us to launch agitation once again," he said.
"The attitude of major parties will push the country toward a serious stalemate," Thakur added.
Responding to media's question about the nature of the upcoming protests, he said, "We'll continue our protests in peaceful manner in spite of state's oppression."
