KATHMANDU, Sept 26: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the demands of Madhesi people should be taken not only that of Madhesi.

"In line with the spirit of the national policy and constitution, the Madhes should be taken ahead to development by ending exploitation and suppression persisting there ", leader Nepal said at an interaction programme organized by Press Chautari Nepal Madhes Affairs Coordination Department.

He further noted that there was no truth in alleging CPN-UML to be an anti-Madhes party and called for all Madhesi people to get united for their liberation.

The feeling and expression of entire denizen of Nepali enriched with different cultures and values should be respected, he asserted, adding that foreign national could obtain citizenship but, for the sake of the country, the granting of naturalized citizen would in no way be for the betterment of the country and this is not also the demand of Madhesi people as well.

CPN-Maoist Centre Vice-Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha stressed the need to address the Madhes issues through national lens.

The political leaders should move ahead by not comprisising the issue of nationality, he added. RSS
