KASKI, March 26: Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district has suspended its services for the next six days owing to the rising cases of COVID-19.
All services provided by the rural municipality office have been halted from March 26 to 31, according to Chairperson Karna Bahadur Gurung.
“The number of coronavirus infected persons has surged at Lahachowk of Ward no 4 in the rural municipality,” he added.

Earlier, three individuals --- the members of a cooperative — were infected with the virus. The local authorities had then carried out contact tracing which resulted in infection among 13 more persons on March 24.
Gurung further informed that the services were halted in view of the health safety of the service seekers.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Kaski, has requested everyone not to organize assemblies, programs and gatherings in view of the growing spread of the coronavirus in neighboring India and its subsequent effects in Nepal.
Similarly, the hotels, restaurants, banks and financial institutions, tourism, and non-government offices have been asked to implement the health safety standard set by the government.
Likewise, the isolation centres and quarantines are being readied to curb the further spread of COVID-19.
The DAO has warned of actions as per the Infectious Disease Act, 2020 if anyone is found violating the circular issued by the DAO.
