M K Nepal likely to be elected 'unopposed'

KATHMANDU, May 23: Ex-general secretary of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) Madhav Kumar Nepal is in all likelihood the new prime minister of the Republic of Nepal, according to our correspondent Yuvraj Acharya.



No one else had filed candidacy for the post by the deadline of 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Parliament Secretariat staff. The Legislature-Parliament will announce the new prime minister at 3 p.m.
