University convention last week approved five Masters level courses on Applied Buddhism, Buddhism and Himalayan Studies, Buddhism and Peace Studies, Buddhist Philosophy – Mahayan and Theism Buddhism. The university had already approved Masters in Buddhist Studies.
Lumbini University, named after birthplace of Lord Buddha, is the only university specializing in Buddhist religion, culture, philosophy and culture.
The university has also approved two bachelors’ level courses. The university is planning to provide affiliation to colleges in Kathmandu to run the courses.
