Lumbini Province sends medical teams and aid to earthquake-affected Jajarkot and Rukum West

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: A group of over 25 doctors from Lumbini Province has been dispatched to the earthquake-affected areas in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts. These medical professionals, comprising doctors from two provincial hospitals, are on a mission to provide critical care to those injured in the earthquake that struck Jajarkot and Rukum West.

The Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, initiated this effort following a telephone conversation with the Chief Minister of Karnali Province. In response to the crisis, a team of health workers was swiftly organized and sent to the affected regions.

Gopal Bhattarai, the Chief Minister's Press Adviser, shared details of the mission. Dr Padmaraj Adhikari led a group of 20 individuals from Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur, while five doctors from Lumbini Regional Hospital joined them, equipped with essential medicine and medical supplies. Additionally, a separate team of five, led by medical superintendent Dr Sunil Sunar of Lumbini Provincial Hospital, was deployed to provide medical support in the earthquake-affected areas.

Moreover, the provincial government has also sent a rescue team under the guidance of provincial Home Minister Santosh Kumar Pandey. Arrangements have been made to transfer patients requiring treatment to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in the event of any critical cases arising from the earthquake.
