KATHMANDU, August 2: As many as 41 lawmakers of opposition parties in Lumbini Province have filed a petition demanding the formation of government in the province based on Article 168(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
KATHMANDU, June 15: Lumbini Province has introduced a budget of Rs 40.95 billion for the next fiscal year. Of the amount, Rs 14.93 billion has been allocated for recurrent expenses while Rs 21.17 billion has been allocated for development projects. The budget for the next year is Rs 3.60 billion in excess of that of the budget for the current fiscal year.
BUTWAL, May 2: Following the re-appointment of Shankar Pokharel as the chief minister of Lumbini Province, a lawmaker of the ruling CPN-UML has resigned from his post while two others have joined the opposition party.
KATHMANDU, April 30: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is on the verge of split over disputes among top leaders regarding taking action against four lawmakers, who decided to be part of the CPN-UML-led cabinet in Lumbini Province, against the party’s official decision.
Chief Minister Pokharel reshuffled his cabinet shortly after two ministers belonging to the CPN (Maoist Ministers) – Kul Prasad KC and Sudarshan Baral – tendered resignation shortly before filing a no-confidence motion.
