KATHMANDU, June 24: The local governments across the country are introducing their budgets today (Friday).
According to the legal provision that requires the local governments to present the budget for the new fiscal year by Asar 10 (June 24 this year), they are going to introduce the budget for the fiscal year 2022/23 today.
Section 21, Sub-Section (3) of Chapter 7 of the Intergovernmental Fiscal Arrangement Act, 2017 provides that the rural municipality executive and the municipal executive should submit the revenue and expenditure estimates of the coming year to the concerned rural municipal or municipal council by the 10th of Asar month every year.
