KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has declared the local units hit by the earthquake on November 3, 2023 as crisis-affected zones. The quake has its epicenter in Jajarkot district.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) has urged all 753 local units to provide their buildings, premises and physical structures for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly.

BAITADI, July 10: Helipads are being built up in all local units in Baitadi for search operations during disasters. Khagendra Bharti, information officer for the District Administration Office, Baitadi, said that a helipad has been constructed for easy landing of helicopters.

The by-elections for the 52 vacant positions of different political representatives including one for the House of Representatives, three for provincial assemblies and 48 at local units were held in the country on Saturday. OKHALDHUNGA, Aug 3: The house of Lal Prasad Ghimire of Khijitaki village of Khijidemba Rural Municipality–4, Okhaldhunga suffered huge damage in the devastating 2015 earthquake. Although the house was inhabitable, his name was not included in the list of eligible housing grant recipients in the first survey conducted by the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). In the last four years, he complained about it on several occasions with the local authorities.  He did not know whether his name was included on the list.

KATHMANDU, July 3: Over 400,000 applications were received at the Public Service Commission (PSC) for 9,161 vacancies at 515 various local units across the country until a few hours before the final deadline.
