CHITWAN, April 28: Minister for Home Affairs, Bal Krishna Khand, has said that the local-level election would be held in a peaceful manner on the slated time.

At a news conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Chitwan on Wednesday, Home Minister Khand shared that he was confident that the rebel candidates of the Nepali Congress would withdraw their candidacies. "Here are my senior leaders as well as friends. We will move ahead by holding consultations with everyone on how to take the party ahead, how to save Chitwan's reputation and how to appeal to the voters."

Home Minister opined, "The party has asked the rebel candidates to withdraw their candidacies taking the party's decision easily. The NC believes that the rebel candidates would withdraw their candidacies."

He further said that the five-party alliance was formed for the protection of the constitution and democracy, saying the national politics now stands on the foundation of alliance and all should take it easily.

"Discussion should be held among alliance members. Sometimes, we have to take one step back," he argued. “All should contribute equally to implement the decision as agreed by top leaders of the alliance.”
