The local administration said that the curfew was basically imposed to prevent the possible scuffles among the cadres of different parties after they were engaged in hot debates over a land.
A large number of security personnel are deployed in the area.
The tension evoked after YCL, youth wing of Unified CPN (Maoist) was planning to build a tent to celebrate a program on the occasion of 15th anniversary of the ‘People’s War’ in the old building of Food Corporation.
Meanwhile, the other parties—Nepali Congress, UML, Ratriya Janamorcha and Rastriya Prajatantra Party, among others, organized a protest rally alleging that the YCL was forcefully seizing the land.
However, YCL has said that it was planning to reside in the area for around a year in lease and not forcefully seizing the land.
