KATHMANDU, July 28: The National Dalit Commission (NDC) on Sunday accused the local administration of conspiring to let the culprits of the Belbari incident free by distorting the truths.

Organizing a press conference in the capital, NDC Chairman Sushila Sirpani Thakuri warned of a strong protest if the administration let off the culprits.[break]

The CDC concerns come following a field visit to the incident site by two of the NDC members to investigate the crime happened recently.

Claiming that the administration has been reluctant to register a case under the Caste-based Discrimination and Untouchability Act 2011, Thakuri argued that looking at the way the developments are taking place, there are no chances of the victim getting justice.

On Tuesday, two dalit community members Maya Sarki and Manoj Bishwakarma were misbehaved and paraded in public with soot smeared on their faces.
