CHITWAN, Nov 23: A loaded pistol was found unattended on the premises of the Chitwan Medical College on Saturday.
According to Area Police Office Gitanagar, the pistol was found at around 3:30 pm.
The US-made 9 mm pistol and two rounds of ammunition were found in the college located at Kailashnagar in ward no. 5 of Bharatpur municipality, according to Superintendent of Police inspector at District Police Office, Chitwan Dan Bahadur Malla.
Live and used bullets of .303 rifle were also found. An investigation has been launched into the incident, SP Malla said. The pistol was found near the hostel of the college, where 200 students are residing.
The college has remained shut since August 22 due to protest by students against the college administration for charging them high fees.
