“Two days ago, we had requested with the Minister for Water Resources to remove load-shedding in industrial estates,” said Giriraj Bhandari, general manager of Industrial Estates Management Ltd. Bhandari also said attempts are on to end load-shedding in all industrial estates.
Also, the NEA, the state-owned power distributor, has ended load-shedding at Kasmas Cements, Everest Wire and Everest Wire.
Similarly, load-shedding hours have been reduced to 8 hours a day from existing 13 hours for industrial feeders along Butwal-Hetauda transmission line. Bhrikuti Pulps and Paper Mills also will benefit from the reduced power outage.
Likewise, load-shedding hours have been cut to two days a week from the existing three and a half days at Himal, Dabur, Nitanpur and Birgunj industrial estates.
The NEA said the reduction in power outage was possible because of rising water levels in snow-fed rivers.
