Listed companies related to hospitality earn notable profits

Majority of the companies in hotels and tourism groups listed in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) earned notable profits as of the second half of the current Fiscal Year (FY), thanks to the rebound in the country’s tourism business.

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Majority of the companies in hotels and tourism groups listed in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) earned notable profits as of the second half of the current Fiscal Year (FY), thanks to the rebound in the country’s tourism business.


According to the NEPSE, the six companies in this group earned net profits of more than Rs 483.60 million during mid-July 2024 and mid-January 2025. The total turnover of the companies during the period stood at Rs 3.09 billion.

Soaltee Hotels earned the highest profits of Rs 301.70 million in the first six months of the current FY. The hotel earned profits of Rs 263.10 million in the same period last FY. Similarly, Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited earned profits of Rs 186.70 million, up from Rs 181.60 million in the review period.


Likewise, Chandragiri Hills and Kalinchowk Darshan earned profits of Rs 66.40 million and Rs 4.74 million, respectively. However, Oriental Hotels’ profits declined to Rs 28.80 million from Rs 53.40 million.


In the group, only City Hotel witnessed loss during the period. The hotel’s loss stood at Rs 104.90 million, a heavy plunge from its profits of Rs 117.90 million.
