Unveiling its third round of protest programs on Wednesday, Limbuwan leaders have announced to run a parallel government starting September 1. However, the leaders reiterated that they are not demanding the caste-based Limbuwan Province. According to supreme leader Bir Nembang they are just demanding Limbuwan as nomenclature for the province and assured that the to-be-formed province would be inclusive.
Nembang claimed that he was the progenitor of the party who first raised the demand of Limbuwan State. Nembang has been demanding the Limbuwan State since last 30 years. Stating that the Limbuwan State that existed 250 years ago was inclusive, Nembang maintained that the to-be-formed Limbuwan state will be the same in terms of political system.
Speaking at the program, senior leader of the party Sanjuhang Palungwa said the party will put up boards of Limbuwan government in all the VDCs lying to the east of the Arun-Koshi River. "We are going to carry out this program in line with the pact signed in 1831 BS and 5-point deal inked between Limbuwan Party and the Nepal government on March 19, 2008," said Palungwa.
According to the protest programs, the party will hold a mass meeting at Itahari in Sunsari district on August 29 and stage strikes on August 31 and September 1.
