Eight persons were injured in Udayapur and four in Khotang. [break]
According to police the lightning that struck at around 11 pm killed 74-year-old Tek Bahadur Karki from Dhankuta Belhara VDC- 5, Balkrishna Shrestha, 20, Rambahadur Rai, 50 and Laxmi Rai, 40, from Khotang district. Similarly, in Udaypur, 50 year old Khadak Bahadur Magrati and in Solukhumbu 26-year-old Sunita Nepali were killed by lightning.
Those injured are Juna Khatri, 15; Bina Matangri, 18; Narbahadur Sarki, 75; and a 3 year-old-boy, among others, in Udaypur district.
