KATHMANDU, May 6: LG Electronics has marked the worldwide sale of 15 million refrigerators powered by its proprietary inverter linear compressor. According to the company, the sale of its premium refrigerators increased 8 percent last year compared to the previous year.
New LG refrigerator launched
The company said it expects to sell four million more units this year, an average of seven refrigerators every minute. “LG’s inverter linear compressor is a critical component in every premium refrigerator and is considered a core technology behind the success of the company’s appliances.
LG’s linear compressor converts linear motion into cooling power much more efficiently. This process reduces energy consumption and noise levels compared to refrigerators with conventional motors,” LG said in a statement. LG says its product was named ‘Best Refrigerator’ by a number of consumer organizations and product reviewers for “its excellent performance, consistent temperature controls and low noise-levels”.
