Legal experts to be consulted to resolve 75 contentious issues

KATHMANDU, Feb. 27: The sub-committee formed under the Constitutional Committee (CC) has decided to determine procedures to resolve and collect suggestions from the legal experts over the contentious issues during the constitution writing process.



Sunday´s meeting of the sub-committee has decided to consult the experts for necessary suggestions to resolve 75 disputed issues in Constituent Assembly (CA).[break]



The CC formed five-member sub-committee that included the senior leaders of major political parties.



However, the committee could not select the coordinator as Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ramchandra Paudel, who is one of the members of the committee, remained absence on Sunday´s meeting.



Talking shortly with reporters the committee member Laxman Lal Karna said questionnaire for the 75 disputed issues were distributed in the meeting and the next meeting scheduled to be held on Monday will select the coordinator and determine its procedure.



The meeting was concentrated to prepare procedure and policy, said another member of the committee Kalpana Rana.



It is necessary to have wide discussion to solve the contentious issues in the CA and all political parties should have commitment to resolve the issues, she said.
