KATHMANDU, Feb 27: A majority of the party leaders attending the CPN (Maoist Center)'s Standing Committee meeting today said that the party should stake its claim to the position of National Assembly chairperson since it was the largest party in the National Assembly.
Talking to media persons at the party's central office at Paris danda today following the meeting, the party's Vice-Chairperson and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said that most of the party's leaders opined that the CPN (Maoist Center) should not drop its claim to the post of National Assembly chairperson because it is the largest party in the national assembly.

The post will be vacant from March 3.
According to Maoist Center Spokesperson Sapkota, the leaders also expressed their views on the latest political developments and contemporary issues of the country in the meeting.
The Standing Committee is meeting again on Wednesday. Party Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to address the meeting tomorrow. It is said that the meeting which was initially scheduled to conclude today, has been postponed for tomorrow due to PM Dahal's busy schedule.
