MELAMCHI, April 18: The political parties in Sindhupalchowk have started engaging in activities as road inauguration in violation of the election code of conduct.

The Election Commission (EC) has instructed the parties to not indulge in activities that directly affect the voters following the announcement of the election date. The political parties in the district seem to have no compunction and are blatantly violating the code.

The parties are banned for constructing roads and inaugurating the physical infrastructure following the announcement of the election date, despite which a Maoist Centre leader inaugurated a newly constructed road.

CPN (Maoist Centre) leader and former minister, Agni Sapkota, inaugurated a road stretch leading from Saatdobato's Nepali Tole area to Adarmaar.

The leader inaugurated the road on Monday after completion of its construction. The fringe parties have accused CPN (UML), CPN Maoist and Nepali Congress' leaders of engaging in activities that violate the election code. RSS
