The highest death toll is in Kaski, where 30 people were killed. Likewise, three people were killed in Myagdi and one each in Baglung and Chitwan, according to Nepal Police.
In Kaski, three VDCs -- Bhadaure Tamagi, Lumle and Dhikur Pokhari -- were badly affected by landslide. Lumle VDC-6 suffered the highest death toll of 23. Similarly, five of those killed were from Bhadaure Tamagi VDC-5 and two were from Dhikur Pokhari VDC-9, informed Hari Bahadur Pal, superintendent of police (SP) at District Police Office (DPO), Kaski.
Thirteen people are still missing in the landslides, including three from Tamagi VDC and 10 from Lumle VDC, according to SP Pal. He further informed that the search for the missing was still continuing.
In Myagdi, the three who died in landslides were from Muna VDC-4, Devisthan VDC-9 and Mudi VDC-5. The suspension bridge over the Rumkhola at Okharkot VDC-1 has been swept away, and transportation along the Beni-Darbang road section at Babiyachaur VDC-5 has been cut off by landslide.
Similarly,one person from Danga VDC-9 in Baglung district has been killed after a house was buried in landslide triggered by rainfall. Rescue work is still underway, according to police.
In Chitwan, the six-year-old daughter of Hari Bahadur Chepang of Sidhi VDC-7 was killed after their house was swept away by landslide.
