RASUWA, July 1:Landslides have been occurring in Rasuwagadhi area on the Nepal-China border since last week.

Earlier, the earthquake had already caused cracks in the lands, and now the incessant rains have triggered more landslides.

Trade with China through Rasuwagadhi, the only border point to trade with China after last year's earthquake, remains disrupted since last week after the landslides have blocked the roads in several places.

“Landslides are still occurring here,” CDO Krishna Prasad Adhikari said. According to him, an area of 16 kilometers between Syaphru bazzar to Raswagadhi in Rasuwa district has been affected by the landslides.

Although a decision to deploy Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnel has been made for clearing the roads, the security personnel have yet to start work due to continuing rock falls, CDO Adhikari said.

Last Friday, a Chinese national was injured in a landslide.
