Landslides and floods obstruct three road sections in Manang

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Landslides and floods have obstructed Pishang, Chameko Koto, and Timang Khola road sections in Dishyang-1. 

Floods in Pisang Khola of Dishyang rural municipality damaged the wooden bridge as a result of which the road-sections were blocked. Passengers have faced problem due to bad road conditions.

"Vehicular movements have been stopped and renovation works have been started", said Bhujung Gurung, ward chairman. 

Similarly, the landslide hit the road in Koto of Chame ward. Jayraj Bhandari, CDO of Manang said, the road section will be closed for a few days due to the continuous landslides.

Flood in Timang Khola also halted the road. 

Passengers are compelled to change vehicles three times to reach Upper Manang. The market is also badly affected.
