JAJARKOT, July 14: A landslide triggered by incessant rains this morning at Kayakhet of Nalgadh Municipality-8, Jajakot buried paddy cultivation spread to a large scale.
The landslide also displaced five families. Families of Hum Prakash Singh, Hiralal Khatri and Kharka Bahadur Shahi, among others have been forced out of the settlement due to the disaster. It also damaged maize crops.
A mudslide above from the Kayakhet-Jikuwa has posed a grave threat to other dozens of houses. Locals have complained that a dozer was used during the road construction, violating the standard.
Meanwhile, traffic services along the Chhepka-Kaina road section have to a halt with a landslide hitting it at Dandagaun. The local government pledged to initiate efforts to clear the blocked road soon. RSS
