According to District Police Office, Rolpa, a passenger bus, Na 4 Kha 5060, heading to Rukum from Ghorahi of Dang was buried by landslides that occurred at Chapka in

However, no casualties took place as the passengers rushed out of the bus before the mound of earth above them caved in and fell down onto the bus.


"The bus has been buried by landslides. The excavator has been deployed in the incident site but it has not been able to remove the debris as the landslide is still taking place,” Police Chief Gyanendra Phuyal told Republica Online.


The landslide is still falling down from 300 meters above. Long ruptures are visible along the land, according to locals. 


The Obang-Bagmara and Thabang-Rukum-Chunbang road sections hve been blocked following the landslide  under the Sahid Highwary, leaving the passengers stranded.
