Lamichhane’s statement recording begins at Kaski District Court

Judge Nitij Rai has begun recording the statement of chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, who is in judicial custody on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Judge Nitij Rai has begun recording the statement of chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, who is in judicial custody on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.


After the statement with Leela Pachai completed on Thursday, Lamichhane’s statement recording began at the Kaski District Court.

Among the arrested on charges of misappropriation of savings of the Suryadarshan Cooperative, the statements recording of Chhabi Lal Joshi and Leela Pachai have been completed.


Seven individuals, including Lamichhane, were presented to the court for statements on Thursday. Along with Lamichhane, former vice chairman of Gorkha Media, Chhabilal Joshi, Nature Herbs owner Ram Bahadur Khanal, Lila Pachain, former board member Krishna Gurung, former Treasurer Aarti Gurung, and former MP Meena Gurung, who also serves as the vice chairperson of the board, were presented to the court in the morning.


The statement-recording began on Monday, following additional charges filed against Lamichhane on Sunday.
