Lama made such claims during the five-day National Black Belt Masters Meet that kicked off in the capital on Tuesday.[break]
Lama had dissolved the Shito-ryu committee led by Kedar Babu Shiwakoti on July 25 and formed an ad hoc committee under the leadership of former president Dawa Gurung entrusting him with the responsibility of holding the election within three months.
Lama also accused some coaches and officials of the dissolved committee of trying to thwart the election and claimed that they would not succeed.
"I came to know that the former president and general secretary of Shito-ryu Karate Association had gone to meet the leaders of my party and other parties," Lama said, adding, "I will pay special attention in monitoring Shito-ryu in the capacity of NSC member secretary, former player and also one of the founder members. I will not spare those involved in selling black belts during their tenure."
Speaking at the function, Shito-ryu President Dawa Gurung who was sacked by the Kishor Bahadur Singh-led executive committee of NSC some eight years ago, said, "We kept mum when we were sacked thinking that able people would get the leadership. But the game deteriorated under the leadership. Hence I took up the mantle to save the game."
Gurung also requested the participants of the meet not to elect bullies. The election will be held before the meeting ends.
Meanwhile, Member Secretary Lama also felicitated all gold medalists of the eighth to eleventh editions of South Asian Games (SAG) at the same function.
According to Gajendra Khapangi (Ishwar), the secretary of Shito-ryu Association, 1,000 players and coaches from across the country are participating in the meet.
