Lama, Subba named best players in Karate competition

KATHMANDU, June 9 : Prakash Lama of Dallu, and Srijana Subba of Balaju, Kathmandu have been declared as the best players in the Nationwide Open Men´s and Women´s Full Contact Karate Competition on Sunday.



Bimal Chaulagain of Balaju Kyokusin Karate Dozo under 35-kg men´s category, Jayadev Thakuri of Chitwan under 40-kg and Nabin Gurung of Pokhara under 45-kg have won the gold medals in the final day of the competition. [break]



Similarly, Rajesh Mahato of Birgunj under 50-kg, Raj Kumar Nagarkoti of the Central Dozo under 55-kg and Krishna Raj Poudel in open category have also won gold medals.



Likewise, Rejina Darnal of Swoyambhu won gold medal by defeating Rejina Pathak of Makawanpur under 40-kg category.



Srijana Tamang of Chitwan and Ambika Bhujel of Swoyambhu also won gold medals under 50-kg and open category respectively.



Pokhara, Swoyambhu and Chitwan stood in first, second and third positions respectively in Dozo.



They received Rs. 10,000, Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 4,000 respectively as cash prizes.

Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Yubaraj Lama gave away prizes to the winners.
