KATHMANDU, June 25: A 50-year-old man, who died at the Lalipur-based Patan Hospital, has become the Kathmandu Valley’s second Covid-19 death case.
The 50-year-old succumbed to the infection at around seven in the morning, taking the Covid-19 death toll in Nepal to 26.
“A 50-year-old male, a resident at Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur, lost his life at the hospital this morning. The patient is a permanent resident of Chitwan, and was a kidney patient,” said an official at the Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
Earlier in May, a 57-year-old male from Bungmati, Lalitpur, had died after testing positive for COVID-19.
As of Thursday afternoon, Nepal has reported 10,728 Covid-19 cases, with 26 deaths.
